Jatka is a level-headed boy with an out-going and happy temperament. Jatka has been trained for obedience and field trials, but due to his owner being too busy with her veterinarian career and having small children in the family he has not been able to compete in search trials yet but hope to do so this year. Jatka is from a litter of seven of whom none have been used for breeding so far. His sire "Rommi" was a certified rescue dog level A who tragically died at the age of 5 1/2 years due to a non hereditary type of cancer in his jaw. Rommi's dam however lived to an old age. Jatka's dam "Timja" is also a very level-headed girl with strong nerves as is her dam and sire. Timja's only sister was exported to Israel and trained successfully to become a service dog for an autistic child. Jatka and his siblings are still healthy well into their mature years. However, several weeks after Wish had been mated it was discovered that one brother has during the last 24 months been subject to three cases of mild cramps during thunderstorms. Their cause is unknown as is his previous history so we don't know what might have happened to him. But as far as I'm aware this brother is the only known case of these mild cramps in the family line and thus the risk of it being hereditary is minor. Summing up Jatka's strong points he is in the words of his owner "very easy and enthusiastic to train. He is an unusually brave and self confident collie with a good drive and very social with all people." At the age of seven he has maintained a correctly built body with good angulations and a strong back line. Even though he has some American and Canadian blood in his pedigree he is not related to Wish so this planned combination will be a true outcross as much as is possible within the limits of the breed. |
